The Month of Miracles

I read today in Proverbs that “hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.”
Great Scripture, but let’s sweeten the deal a bit…
According to the Hebrew calendar, we are in the month of Nisan. Nisan usually falls in March–April and Jewish scholars say that Nisan is “the first of the months” because it’s when the people of Israel were liberated from Egypt. According to Jewish custom, this entire month is to be one of happiness and freedom. Nisan also happens to coincide with when the Christian church traditionally celebrates Easter…
Do you see a theme going on here?
My friend Mitch and I were talking the other day and we believe that we’re in a extraordinary time where God wants to begin to bring “happiness and freedom” to his people–that’s you and me–for his purposes and plans.
Let me ask you a few questions and then you reply in the comments with your answers:
- What are some hopes or dreams that you’ve had for your life that are in deferment?
- How would it feel if those hopes and dreams were fulfilled?
- What kind of miracle needs do you have in your life right now?
- What do you feel called to do that seems absolutely impossibe?
This is the month of miracles. God is a God of miracles. Do you see the connection? Holla!

My husband and I want to be a part of a small sustainable farming community, living this lifestyle as an expression of our Christian faith. We thought the opportunity was going to come quickly due to a job opening at a camp, but alas, it's not looking like it will happen (I am still hoping though). Waiting is difficult.
What we really want and need is a life/work where my husband and I can spend time together, living simply, working the land, and creating a place of rest for those who would join us in our journey. It just seems like huge miracles would have to happen to get us there!
Wow. This sounds awesome… I can't think of a better pair to do it either!
Maybe you'll need to buy a plot of land and start the ball rolling yourself? Just an idea…
Hope @ Work has been a ministry on my heart from the moment I heard about it 3 years ago. We recently held a job fair and I co-presented “God-Centered Job Search Strategies” where I combined my human resources background, passion for social media and love for people. It was beautiful to visit with those hurting because of their current situation and give them words of encouragement that there is hope.
My heart was filled with joy when others shared how much it impacted them. On paper it would be crazy to leave my salaried position to follow this ministry… but I know it’s just a matter of when. The day it comes true – I will jump for joy! Then I will order a vehicle wrap from SpeedPro Imaging so that I can start spreading the message of Hope @ Work all over the world!
Thank you Justin and Mitch for inspiring others to follow their dreams and to believe in miracles!

Nice. I can tell this has really gripped you… Especially when I watch you on Twitter! I can see that your heart is to connect people with the purposes and plans that God has for their life! Read this from Ephesians:
15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all his people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit [f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Yes!
Amen Justin! What a beautiful verse, my favorite part …. "the eyes of your heart may be enlightened". Who would have thought Twitter could be another way for us share God's love
