Rest Assured and Dream Away!

Inspired by recent life events from Tony Morgan and Ben Arment, I want to ask you a question today:

If you could launch one of your biggest dreams right now, what would it be?

Me? I would develop Deviant Media Group (BeDeviant.com’s “mother” company) into a full-fledged communications-solution juggernaut. I’ve always wanted to help churches better communicate the most important message on earth in a culturally relevant way; a way that the normal, everyday world can understand. Workshops, blog and social media coaching, books (both e- and paper), graphic design, and of course continuing this beautiful blog–you name it, we’d do it.

That’s what I would do. What would you do?

  • For me, if I could do anything, it would be splitting my time among a few things: leading a Christ-centered community, writing, and speaking the eternal truths found in the Gospel of Jesus. So far, I have touched on all three, being part of a church plant, getting an essay published, and speaking at a couple worship services this past year. I hope to continue to develop these giftings as I pursue God everyday. Thanks for starting the conversation. Keep pressing after God, and you will accomplish more than you could ever ask or imagine.
  • I recently came to the conclusion with my current job (of which I can work from anywhere in the country) that I'm not satisfied with Chicago. Lots of people, AWFUL winters and a heavy boozing culture propelled me to think this. I put in a transfer to Denver that very easily could've been turned down (our headquarters is in Chicago) and it got passed! After this, I thought to myself: Ryan, you have molded your life/work so that you can work from anywhere in the country...if you can do this on your own at the age of 24, what else can you accomplish if you put your mind to it? I plan on owning and operating a coffee shop with all of the bells and whistles by the age of 30. I'm not sure if I'll be partnering with anybody or if this is a solo adventure, but making a bold goal, achieving it and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel makes me think humans are capable of achieving amazing things.
  • I would work at Deviant Media Group. ;)

I am actually in the process of trying to launch my dream - a faith-based apparel company. More later...
  • By the way, I won't be designing Faithbook or Godspace t-shirts either. ;)
